Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY  

Tiverton is seeking a proactive and resourceful Analyst who can provide the highest quality financial and investment analysis for Tiverton, while also undertaking various other tasks endemic to a young, fast-growing company. The desired candidate will be a problem solver with the desire to work in a dynamic environment.    

The Analyst will be an integral part of the investment team of Tiverton and provide critical support to deal teams as they pursue challenging and creative capital and operational solutions to agriculture businesses. The successful Analyst will be self-motivated and energized by working with a group of thoughtful, smart, and skilled colleagues. He or she will enjoy being a part of a young and hungry organization focused on becoming the pre-eminent investment firm in US agriculture.  

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Analyze and conduct due diligence and underwriting on private investments (both credit and equity) in the US production agriculture sector  

  • Build and modify cash flow, valuations, and transaction models  

  • Prepare investment memorandums, present recommendations, and due diligence findings to internal committees and investors  

  • Partner with legal counsel to review deal terms, as well as negotiate and execute investment transactions 

  • Perform and develop industry/sector research and analysis  

  • Provide investor support, including but not limited to portfolio management and reporting 

  • Support fundraising initiatives and investor needs 

  • Support other ad hoc projects 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or other related majors 

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher 

  • 1-2+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking or management consulting  

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel  

  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities  

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills  

  • Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of transaction teams  

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment  

  • High degree of integrity
