Job Description

Tipico is looking for a Data Engineer to join our team. Grow with us, introduce us to new ideas and develop products that maximise the thrill of sports for our customers. Every day, you’ll work in a highly collaborative and agile environment with cross-functional team members to develop products and create technical solutions that push us forward.

Your playing field:

  • You will play a pivotal role in deploying, maintaining, and governing real-time data pipelines and data lake architecture to ensure reliable, high-quality data for analytics and operations
  • You will oversee the implementation of an enterprise data mesh architecture, enable decentralized ownership while maintaining consistency, scalability, and governance across the organization
  • Our focus is on providing data ownership and governance across the company’s different data products, ensuring that stakeholders have access to trusted, well-managed data
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
  • Build and maintain both batch (ETL) and real-time data pipelines and architecture using SQL and AWS cloud technologies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including software architects, engineers, product managers, and IT teams to achieve organisational goals
  • Assemble large and complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements, driving actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business metrics

Qualifications

Which skills should you bring to the pitch:

  • 3 years of work experience. That is relevant for us and this position.
  • Cloud Data Services. AWS services such as S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, MSK, ECS, and Lambda, as well as infrastructure-as-code (IaC) with Terraform.
  • Event Streaming Ecosystems. Experience with Kafka and related technologies, including Apache Kafka, KSQL, and Schema Registry

  • Governance & Data Quality. Understanding of data governance, quality concepts, and experience with data catalog tools.
  • Containerization & Orchestration. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing data infrastructure.
  • Open Source Enthusiast. Passionate about open-source technologies and contributing to or leveraging community-driven tools.
