Job Description

We are currently seeking a Title Researcher to join our Land Survey group in our Richmond, VA office.

Essential duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform records research to support Land Surveying/Engineering Projects in Central Virginia
  • Research efforts to include obtaining parcel ownership deeds; conveyances; land descriptions/plats; easements and other record data adversely affecting property
  • Deed analysis focusing on land descriptions & finding encumbrances
  • Deed sketches of individual lots & overall area sketches
  • Research utility records both public and private
  • Some research will be performed on-line from our corporate headquarters, but travel to local jurisdictions to obtain research will be required at times

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience 

  • 5+ years experience in title work with a minimum of 2 years of commercial related research experience preferred
  • Ability to understand courthouse indexing concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts
  • Must demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to learn company specific applications when necessary
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
