Job Description

The Online Plant Sales Coordinator will partner with Tilly’s landscape design customers and our network of plant suppliers to source and deliver plant orders following the approval of the customer’s final landscape plan. This role will also work internally with customer service, sales, the design team and Tilly’s executive leadership to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build Estimates: Take final plant schedules from approved landscape design projects and build plant estimates based on internal pricing framework. Revise as needed based on customer feedback.

  • Source Bids: Reach out to Tilly’s network of plant suppliers to request pricing based on the initial estimate provided to the customer. Compare bids and negotiate as appropriate.

  • Place Orders: Manage recommended plant substitutions, finalize orders and generate invoices for customer payment. Track customer payment and follow up as needed.

  • Coordinate Deliveries: Act as liaison between customers, suppliers and third party logistics to schedule and communicate delivery details.

  • Manage Warranties / Replacements: Follow up with customers regarding any issues with their order, including missing or incorrect items, damaged plants, etc. 

  • Manage Supplier Relationships: Coordinate supplier payments and develop relationships with contacts to ensure priority service and preferred pricing when possible.

  • Build Supplier Network: Support Tilly in continuing to expand its network of plant suppliers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

  • Process Improvement: Take initiative and find opportunities where technology or new processes can improve the plant sales experience for customers and the Tilly team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in one of the following or related fields

    • Plant procurement and sales 

    • Purchasing agent or manager 

    • Account Executive or Buyer 

  • Superior organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects concurrently.

  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to manage supplier relationships as well as demanding customers.

  • Ability to solve problems or seek the information needed to deliver solutions.

  • A relentless focus on the customer experience, as well as process improvement.

  • Tech savvy and comfortable with navigating Google products, video calls and various business applications.

  • Excited to drive results, learn fast and empower others in a high growth startup environment.
