Job Description
The Roaming Expert is responsible for managing international roaming commercial activities, roaming coordination, IREG testing, and financial settlement follow-up. The role acts as the main focal point between customers, roaming partners, clearing houses, and internal teams to ensure smooth roaming operations, successful IOT negotiations, and accurate reconciliation and settlement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Negotiation & Contract Management:
Lead bilateral and multilateral negotiations with roaming partners and groups to secure optimal IOT terms IRAs.
Ensure contracts reflect agreed commercial conditions and are aligned with GSMA standards and RAEX processes.
Monitor contract lifecycle and proactively manage renewals and amendments.
Roaming Coordination & IREG Testing
Coordinate day-to-day roaming activities with customers, roaming partners, roaming coordinators, and roaming engineers.
Manage and follow up roaming relation creation and implementation activities.
Coordinate and support IREG testing activities to ensure successful roaming service launch and operational readiness.
Set internal priorities for testing, implementation, and relation activation.
Handle roaming operational documentation and administrative updates.
Financial Reconciliation & Settlements:
Perform regular reconciliations between operational and financial data (e.g., invoices, payments, service delivery, usage reports).
Validate and process settlement reports, ensuring accuracy of financial postings and balances.
Perform Monthly Accruals for discounted commercial deals.
Support monthly and quarterly financial closing activities, ensuring all settlements are captured and accrued correctly.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, legal, operations) and external roaming partners.
Provide regular updates and reporting to the customer on negotiation progress, risks, and outcomes.
Market Intelligence & Compliance:
Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive benchmarks.
Ensure all agreements comply with GSMA guidelines, roaming regulations, and internal governance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Telecommunications, or related field
5–7 years of experience in roaming, wholesale, or telecom commercial roles
Experience negotiating IOT agreements or managing roaming partnerships
Fluency in verbal and spoken English; additional languages are a plus
Strong presentation skills

You have basic technical knowledge of a mobile network : infrastructure/ Network nodes/ Services/ GSM
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of roaming economics
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and translate into actionable insights
Knowledge of financial controls, settlement workflows, and payment systems.
Attention to detail with the ability to manage large data sets and resolve financial discrepancies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with GSMA tools (RAEX, TADIG), TAP/RAP billing, and roaming KPIs
Ability to work independently while aligning with broader customer strategy
