About the role
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner for our Chemistry & Microbiology solutions within Laboratory team at Tieto Caretech, Specialized Products and Consulting.
It will be your responsibility to maximize the value of the laboratory product portfolio by translating customer, business, regulatory, and operational needs into prioritized development work. The role serves as the primary link between laboratory domain experts, customers, product management, and development teams.
You will own the product backlog, drive development priorities, and ensures that delivered solutions support laboratory workflows while meeting quality, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
In this role you will
Create and maintain the product roadmap for assigned laboratory products.
Translate product strategy into epics, features, and user stories.
Own and prioritize the product backlog.
Balance customer requirements, regulatory needs, technical debt, and modernization initiatives.
Ensure development teams work on the highest-value items.
Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives together with the development teams.
Support business cases and investment proposals.
We are looking for someone with
5+ years experience in laboratory information systems (LIS/LIMS) or healthcare software.
Experience as Product Owner, Product Manager, Application Specialist, Laboratory Consultant, or similar role.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
It would be beneficial if you also have some of the following
Experience working in Agile software development environments.
Experience with MDR, ISO 13485, ISO 27001, GDPR, or similar healthcare regulations
AI knowledge requirement
AI literacy is expected for this role. You will be comfortable using approved AI tools to improve quality and productivity in everyday work (e.g., drafting, summarising, analysing, and automating routine tasks). You can write clear prompts/instructions, critically evaluate and validate AI outputs, and apply sound judgement when results are incomplete, biased, or incorrect. You understand and follow company policies and applicable legal/regulatory requirements for confidentiality, privacy, security, and responsible AI use (including not sharing sensitive data in unapproved tools).
