Job Description

As the Engineering Foreman – LCBM you will be responsible to ensure that you deliver high-quality technical maintenance and repair services to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Supervise and actively engage in maintenance activities, working alongside the team with tools to ensure efficient task completion and uphold operational standards.

More of your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults promptly to minimise downtime
  • Accurately interpret and apply technical drawings to support maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure all maintenance activities align with established standards and procedures
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to and promoting safety and compliance standards
  • Priorities safety in all operational activities, ensuring no compromises are made
  • Maintain compliance with the MHSA, safety protocols, and environmental regulations
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures consistently
  • Develop and execute efficient maintenance plans to support production and operational goals
  • Monitor, analyse, and optimise engineering processes for continuous improvement
  • Supervise and contribute to the effective functioning of maintenance teams to achieve operational goals
  • Provide guidance and technical support to team members to address challenges effectively
  • Participate in relevant safety and environmental audits, inspections and observations, and address issues as part of demonstrating safety and environmental leadership
  • Identify any opportunities for improved cost management and propose with applicable action plans

Qualifications

  • Matric/ Technical N3 qualification
  • Trade Test Certificate
  • Diploma (Engineering)

Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum 5 years' post-trade experience in an engineering environment
  • Completion of a High or Medium Voltage training course
  • Experience in the Mining environment would be advantageous
  • Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous
  • A 2.9.2 MHSA appointment or OHS act equivalent would be advantageous
  • Having a Basic Rigging certificate would be advantageous
