- This role will require a balanced creative, analytical and hands-on person. You don’t mind rolling your sleeves up one day and getting stuck into some deep thinking the next.
Job Description
Guardian of the SMARTY brand
- You’ll be the champion of SMARTY's brand across the business, building out a centre of excellence that determines how SMARTY shows up across every touchpoint. You’ll work with cross functional teams to facilitate and support the delivery of our strategy, tone of voice and visual identity. You’ll be on hand for any brand asset management and will help establish tighter processes across the business.
- In order to successfully translate a brand’s strategy or story into marketing collateral and advertising campaigns, you’ll need to successfully collaborate with creative teams both in-house and across our agencies. You’ll direct, oversee, and signs off on core creative elements to ensure that materials adhere to SMARTY’s brand guidelines and are in line with our current brand strategy.
- You’ll push SMARTY’s creative, working with our agencies, as well as channel owners across marketing to suggest new executions and tests that help us cut through. You’ll have a keen eye for copy and creative - and will make sure SMARTY packs a punch consistently. You have your finger on the pulse of cultural trends and will be finding ways in for SMARTY to get involved.
- You’ll be a key point of contact for exciting cross-functional projects (such as new proposition roll out), making sure the SMARTY brand is showing up distinctly and consistently across touchpoints – including digital channels, CX and content.
Establish brand direction using insight
- Working with internal and external insights teams, you’ll spend time distilling data and insights on SMARTY’s current marketing strategies, customer profile, and market share to develop a strong sense of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to improve our brand positioning. You’ll use these insights to compare against our competitors so we can clearly identify our opportunity to stand out from the rest.
- Data analysis using Three’s insight team and our agency partners is also vital to this role. In order to develop our successful and impactful brand strategy, you’ll have to gather and assess a wide array of data, ranging from customer feedback to surveys measuring brand recognition and engagement with the help of the Three insight team. You’ll use this data to discover trends and insights that can then be used to develop a successful strategy.
- As you develop marketing and communications strategies using your agency partners, you’ll present your findings, concepts, and progress to our wider leadership team as well as cross functional teams within SMARTY. You’ll work closely with the wider marketing, digital and customer experience team to fine-tune messaging throughout the process.
Qualifications
- Brand guardianship – You’re an excellent strategic thinker, and working with creative and media partners to ensure a brands story is being activated as impactfully as possible, aligning with SMARTY’s goals and objectives
- Storytelling – You’re an excellent communicator who’s able to use your storytelling skills to highlight the story and benefits of SMARTY that not only motivates our agency partners, but also helps our colleagues buy into the brand vision and purpose culturally too.
- Written and verbal communication – You’re excellent at communicating with stakeholders across the business and agencies through presentations, compelling copy, and detailed strategy documents and able to clearly explain the reasoning behind strategic decisions, showing SMARTY & Three why this strategy will achieve our collective desired results
- Forecasting – you’ll work very closely with the Three insights team to follow and predict trends in order to develop strategies that succeed in a changing marketplace and anticipate shifting customer profile

- The salary range for this role starts at £53,760, the exact salary will differ by job and experience
- A car allowance, a performance based annual bonus & an additional 'flexible allowance' to spend on additional benefits, topping up your pension, or to be added to your salary.
- Hybrid working between your home (2-3 days a week) and our brand new Reading HQ office at Green Park (2-3 days a week)

At Three we have a hybrid working arrangement in place as standard for office based employees, where employees work from a mix of office based location and working from their home in the UK to carry on their role.
Excluding retail, our core hours at Three are between 10:00 and 16:00, with operating hours between 08:00 & 18:30. This allows employees to have a start time between 08:00 and 10:00 and finish time between 16:00 and 18:30.
