Thomas Rest Haven is a stand alone facility owned by the city of Coon Rapids. It is governed by a board of directors. Our facility accommodates 57 beds, has private and shared rooms and has been awarded the only VA contract within 50 miles. WE are very fortunate to belong to a tight knit and supportive community. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Charge Nurse assists in the supervision and administration of quality nursing care for the facility.  The Charge Nurse must possess a comprehensive knowledge of general nursing, theory, and practice, including basic knowledge related to nursing such as drugs, biological, physical, social and medical sciences, and their application for a better understanding of resident-care problems.  A good memory and excellent communication skills are required.  The Charge Nurse will assist in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment which will be conducive to the best interest and welfare of the residents. 

Position requires the employee to be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and must possess and the employee must be responsible for maintaining a current license with the Iowa Board of Nursing.  Registered Nurse is preferred, although Licensed Practical Nurse is acceptable.  Applicants with advanced preparation in or experience with geriatrics is preferred.
