The Thomas County Road Department is responsible for 113.8 miles of county gravel roads, 118.3 miles of county asphalt roads, 47 miles of roads in East Hale Township.
HELP WANTED: The Thomas County Highway Department is accepting applications for one full-time employee. The work will consist of maintaining county and township roads, flagging, installing signs, driving truck, snow removal, etc. Normal work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Must be a high school graduate or have GED equivalent and hold a valid CDL or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Thomas County Highway Department maintains a safe work environment; therefore, drug and alcohol testing will be required. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour plus benefits with a possible increase after a six-month training period. Application deadline is January 22, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Applications are available in the Highway Department Office located at the Thomas County Shop 1260 Sunflower Ave, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. until noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
