Job Description

The ideal candidate will know business, technology, and the markets, and how it all relates to analytics, data, and trends. 

You’ll work with our Thinknum Media team to discover, pitch, and tell compelling stories rooted in alternative data. You are an avid and eager writer, capable of delivering top-notch copy. You have the drive to deliver high-quality work on a daily basis and you're excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment. 

You will join a fast-growing startup which offers exciting opportunities to those that are willing to put in the work. 

What We Need You To Do

  • Understand the levers that drive markets, and how they fit together
  • Be comfortable talking markets with the biggest and smartest names in the business
  • Collaborate with research data analyst to generate thought-provoking and original analytical findings rooted in Thinknum's alternative web data 
  • Pick out the most relevant bite-sized nuggets of data from research
  • Author and support the creation of daily articles, reports and features published on Thinknum Media
  • Be eager to use specialized web data software to derive insights 

Qualifications

What You Bring To Thinknum

  • Experience working on a fast-moving markets desk or business publication
  • Passion for data-driven journalism with an eye for fact-checking standards
  • Solid understanding of capital markets and fundamental and quantitative investment methodologies
  • Hard-work and diligence (we work at least 50 hours/week and have a daily morning meeting at 8:30 am)
  • Copy-editing skills, Photoshop experience and knowledge of social media are a plus
