Job Description

The Senior Technologist is responsible for the integration of various software components, applications, and services to ensure the smooth operation of our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, architecture, and integration best practices, and be committed to delivering high-quality solutions.

The Senior Technical Technologist will assist with all aspects of the data migration from a customer’s former PMS / EHR to a Therapy Brands platform including but not limited to client uploads, e-RX, document conversion, and report building.  The process will involve understanding the platform the customer is migrating from and then executing a series of steps that are clearly communicated and synchronized with the Project Manager.  Migrating data from one platform to another is the largest concern and pain point for prospective clients.  The candidate will guide the customer through the process giving them confidence that their data will be in the new platform without any issue.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION

  • Implement highly available solutions to ensure the reliability and availability of healthcare data integration services.
  • Deploy, configure, manage, and document complex healthcare data integration solutions using Mirth Connect, ensuring the seamless flow of data between healthcare systems and applications.
  • Work with development team to optimize the performance of Mirth Connect and associated AWS resources to ensure efficient data processing and minimal downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to Mirth Connect, AWS infrastructure, and data integration, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with third-party software vendors and healthcare system providers to understand their integration requirements, troubleshoot integration issues, and stay informed about updates and best practices.
  • Migrate customer data from legacy platform to Therapy Brands platform, based off the contract and/or SOW provided
  • Inspect pre-migrated data for authenticity and ability to use in an import
  • Inspect data import for accuracy
  • Identify any hurdles or barriers that prevent the data from being moved into the intended platform
  • Review data for accuracy within spreadsheets and additional tooling
  • Responsible for time tracking of project hours and regular status updates to management
  • Communicate regular updates to customers and/or project managers informing them of project status or inquiring about any needed information required to keep the project moving forward
  • Build custom forms and/or reports to clients’ needs; make updates as required
  • Train customers on form/report creation

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years’ experience in integration/interface engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
  • Preferred experience in public health / mental health
  • Preferred experience in data coordination / collection
  • Preferred experience in Operations
  • Preferred experience in Data Analysis

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

  • Proficiency in Mirth Connect, including channel development, transformations, scripting, and interface design.
  • Experience with Mirth Connect best practices and optimizations for performance and scalability.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare data exchange standards such as HL7 (e.g., HL7 v2, HL7 v3), FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), and CDA (Clinical Document Architecture).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services relevant to integration, including AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, AWS Glue, Amazon SQS, and Amazon S3.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, C++, or Python
  • Familiarity with various data exchange formats, such as JSON, XML, and CSV
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, healthcare professionals, and project managers.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience using Jira for Agile project management
  • Experience in medical systems, business processes in the medical field, laboratory information management systems, electronic health records and public health surveillance.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding or experience with clinical workflows, state reporting, compliance, etc.
