Job Description

The RCM Senior A/R Specialist, Project Lead will be responsible for ensuring AR clean-up projects are successfully completed for new RCM customers.  This includes working claims to resolution to delight and drive revenue for new RCM customers.  The position reports to the Manager/Director, RCM Operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION

Effectively resolve aged AR projects for new RCM customer to ensure RCM starts customer with clean AR:

  • Troubleshoot & resolve claim issues for aged AR, prioritizing claims by age, complexity, and urgency. 
  • Analyzes billing errors, rejections and denials to identify root causes.  Correct, resubmit and appeal claims as needed to drive collections. 
  • Research changes in payer requirements and communicates those requirements and impact to the RCM leadership team
  • Partners with RCM leadership to create, work, and/or manage action plans for assigned projects
  • Liaison with RCM Customer Service Manager to communicate action plan updates to the customer
  • Effectively communicates concerns to RCM Operations Director
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 5 years’ experience medical billing
  • Strong understanding of the revenue cycle, including payer networks and clearinghouses
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer skills (typing, data entry, general computer, and browser usage)
  • Intermediate Google Suite/Microsoft Office (Word. Excel) knowledge
  • The ability to analyze and interpret data
