Job Description
The Marine Personnel Travel Operator is responsible for the end‑to‑end planning, coordination, and monitoring of all travel and accommodation arrangements for company personnel attending Thenamaris‑managed vessels, as well as for the global mobilization of seafarers. The role ensures full compliance with immigration, visa, and health requirements while providing 24/7 support to travelers in transit and resolving last‑minute challenges with professionalism and care.
This position requires close collaboration with Technical and Safety & Quality Superintendents, Marine Personnel Operators, travel partners, and port agents to deliver cost‑effective, timely, and compliant personnel mobilizations. A key part of the role is optimizing travel costs through fare‑downsale practices, monitoring GDS fare fluctuations to secure competitive pricing, and working with global teams to enhance operational efficiency and cost control.
The role reports to the Marine Personnel Travel Operators Coordinator.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of relevant working experience in Shipping Companies, Airlines, or Travel Agencies
- University degree in Business Administration, Shipping, or Tourism is strongly preferred
- Hands‑on experience with GDS platforms such as Amadeus and/or Travelport
- Excellent command of English (oral and written); knowledge of additional languages—such as Bulgarian or Filipino—is an asset
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across nationalities
- Exceptional coordination and organizational skills
- Resilience and flexibility, with the ability to work under pressure and manage last‑minute changes in a round‑the‑clock operational environment
