Job Description

Thenamaris invites high-caliber professionals with the requested qualifications to apply for the Plan Approval Engineer position in the New Buildings team of the Technical Department.

As part of our ongoing and anticipated newbuilding activities, Thenamaris is seeking talented Naval Architects and Marine Engineers to support ongoing and upcoming newbuilding projects, while also ensuring the availability of the right resources and expertise for future needs. We welcome interest from both junior and experienced candidates.

Based in Athens, the Plan Approval Engineer will join the head office team, reviewing and verifying technical drawings for newbuilding projects to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulations. The role includes coordinating with shipyards, site offices, and classification societies, providing remote technical support, and occasionally visiting site offices based on project needs.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from a 5-year polytechnic program
  • Opportunities are available for candidates with varying levels of experience, including up to 5 years, and applicants will be assessed based on their profile and relevant experience
  • Any working experience in Plan Approval roles in other ships management companies, technical offices and/or classification societies is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and cautiousness
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills combined with the ability to work in a multinational environment
  • PC literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written
  • Fulfilled military obligations (if relevant)

Flexibility to travel and undertake new building site-office assignments, in the Far East, if/as needed is required.

    This is a project-based position with a duration linked to the Company’s newbuilding program (approx. 3-year horizon), with potential for future opportunities depending on business needs.
