Growing and manufacturing some of the most recognized and pioneering consumer brands, The Wonderful Company is seeking a classically trained marketer, to assume our VP, Marketing role. The VP, Marketing will develop and execute marketing and advertising strategy for POM Wonderful, Seedless Lemons, and Wonderful Halos - several of our most successful and well-known healthy, good-for-you products. This energetic leader will have an entrepreneurial spirit, be bold and passionate, thrive on collaboration, and posses a deep understanding of how to build profitable businesses through various B2B and B2C brand marketing channels.

This is a unique leadership opportunity to be part of a privately-owned, growing, health-focused, multi-brand organization while working on good products with good people contributing to good causes.

We operate on a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

Job Description

  • Drive marketing, growth, and innovation strategies and executions
  • Innovate and execute creative, engaging, and data-based brand marketing strategies and campaigns with a strong point of view to capture consumer attention and market share
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with our full-service, in-house Creative Agency for promotion and execution and align with Business Unit leadership to ensure business priority
  • Build, mentor and manage an inventive and tactical marketing team of 7 members with an overall company annual marketing budget of +/- $200MM
  • Evolve the brand guidelines and consumer product ideologies to further define and increase the exposure in the marketplace
  • Distill market trends, research, and business data into messaging and programming (the story and how to tell it) that drives product demand by connecting with the consumer
  • View the business holistically, working closely with other departments and ensuring that marketing activities are connected to wider company goals and objectives
  • Create and execute seasonal strategies that meet financial goals and customer expectations
  • Leverage our full-service, in-house Research and Insights team to continually build an in-depth knowledge of the consumer and identify opportunities for new products by following consumer behavior patterns, aspirations, and influences
  • Recognize marketplace trends and patterns before they begin to play out to identify emerging customer trends and offer significant advantage
  • Use analytics skills to participate in the formulation of strategy and infrastructure development, data collection processes, analysis, and program development
  • Travel regularly to the Central Valley to meet with brand clients

Qualifications

  • Documented success in scaling and advancing a renowned global company’s brand, marketing strategies and consumer retail and ecommerce approach
  • Recognized leadership, managerial and coaching skills to build and empower a marketing team
  • Acknowledged capability to align a complex marketing organization to acquire, engage and retain consumers and be ahead of the market in thought and trends while forecasting and monitoring an extensive budget
  • History of working with sales leadership teams to build persuasive trade marketing plans and communication that drive distribution, expansion, innovation, and profit
  • Experience launching effective marketing campaigns to grasp customer awareness for consumer goods sold at a variety of acquisition points including grocery, convenience store, on-premise, and ecommerce
  • Must be experienced with strategic communication across a wide variety of platforms: network/cable television, OTT, streaming services, Print, Web 2.0, Social Media, Public Relations, Packaging, Point-of-Sale, Retail Sales
  • Familiarity with the utilization of big data and predictive analytics, such as IRI or Nielsen, to produce consumer targeted insights
  • Understanding of the commodity business or co-op experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree and MBA preferred

Pay Range: $270,000 - $290,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
