Container Control Officer (Fixed - Term 6 months) will perform duties to ensure efficiency and effective movement for containers in and out of the Depot, Lautoka and assisting the Depot Supervisor with administrative work.
Job Description
Major Objectives / Accountabilities:
- Accurate and timely recording of all equipment and supplies received at the depot. All units to be entered into the depot container control system within 24hrs of being gated in
- Effective and efficient management of depot inventory
- Accurate and timely reporting to principals as per their requirements/timelines/format (i.e. daily/weekly/monthly stock and movement reports).
- Accurate and timely updating of any stock discrepancies in depot container control system
- Assist in Office Administration
- Plan and coordinate container bookings for all customers and ensure timely feedback on pickup of export units from depot
- Plan and conduct Yard stocktake to verify physical records against system inventory
- Ensure full compliance with depot safety protocols and OHS requirements
- Communicate effectively with yard personnel, customers, and other key stakeholders
- Record and Manage all Stock supplies for workshop, conduct physical audits, send monthly stock report for Materials and equipment.
- Conduct Safety audit checks and inspections in and around depot and record observations in Enablon. Report on any HSE Critical Risk concerns or failures
- Conduct daily TOOLBOX pre-start Meeting. Record and send daily minutes of meeting and raise any concerns with action plans.
- Request quotes for workshop material supplies and issue request for requisition.
- Follow up with supplier on outstanding invoices. Send approved invoices to accounts to process payments. Follow up on any discrepancies relating to supplier invoices or supply of goods.
- Present daily reports on customer bookings/forecast versus stock in yard, projections for empty evacuations.
- Manage FIJI WATER weekly requirements and pickup schedules from depot.
- Ensure timely gate out reports are sent to FJW team on daily movements, pending releases and follow-up on QC requirement at depot for container inspections.
- Any other related duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
Education
- Tertiary Qualification in Business or Office Administration
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar or related field
- Experience with yard management systems and software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated and capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to work either independently or collaboratively as needed
- Knowledge of container handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
