As the EHS Advisor, you will be the trusted subject matter expert supporting managers, supervisors, and employees across the business. You will provide practical advice, coaching, and leadership to ensure EHS systems are effective, risks are managed, and a strong safety culture is embedded throughout operations.

Reporting directly to the Country Manager, with a functional reporting line to the Group EHS Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety systems while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and company standards.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Monitoring compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety legislation, regulations, and company standards.
  • Leading workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and safety reviews.
  • Conducting and facilitating incident investigations and ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Developing, delivering, and coordinating EHS training programmes, inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training.
  • Supporting emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation planning and emergency drills.
  • Monitoring and reporting EHS performance metrics, trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Managing EHS documentation, records, hazard registers, training records, and compliance reporting.
  • Supporting injury management, rehabilitation, fitness-for-work, and return-to-work processes where required.
  • Promoting Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) principles and positive safety behaviours throughout the business.
  • Supporting environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
  • Coaching leaders, supervisors, and safety representatives to build capability and accountability across the organisation.

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working closely with people, coaching leaders, solving problems, and making workplaces safer every day.  Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience working within high-risk industries such as logistics, transport, manufacturing, construction, ports, infrastructure, or similar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, incident investigation, auditing, and safety management systems.
  • Understanding of environmental, health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Confidence delivering training, facilitating workshops, and coaching operational teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, EHS management systems and databases.
  • Tertiary qualification or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in auditing, injury management, workers' rehabilitation, or environmental compliance.
  • Knowledge of Samoan and/or Pacific Island regulatory environments would be advantageous.
