Maintain mutually beneficial relationships between GENERA PACIFIC PTE LTD and its clients through providing high standards of fumigation services. Undertake fumigation duties where coverage is needed across any division or location by always maintaining a high standard of service. Be an active member of the team performing all duties alongside work colleagues when required.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • . Carry out all fumigation treatments as per WG GENERA PACIFIC PTE LTD SOP’s on:
    • Fumigation of Stacks & Container using Methyl Bromide
    • Fumigation of Vessel Hold Using Methyl Bromide
    • Phosphine Treatment of Vessel Holds
    • Thermal Fogging of Vessels
    • AFAS Methyl Bromide Fumigation Methodology V2.0 (subject to change)
    • Guide to performing QPS fumigations with methyl bromide v1.2 (subject to change)
  •  Ensure all fumigation treatments are conducted as per the standard and mandates of Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF)
  •  Ensure a Biosecurity Officer is always present for each treatment application and ventilation.
  •  Ensure correct dosage rate of fumigant is used for each shipment / treatment.
  •  Ensure correct fumigant is used for different fumigation treatments.
  •  Fill in Records of Fumigation (ROF) of each treatment.
  •  Ensure ROF’s are handed to admin team for verification and filing for audit purposes.
  •  Be present for audit of fumigation process and practical demonstrations by internal audit team, BAF and Australian Authorities.
  •  Be an active member of the team performing all duties alongside work colleagues and divisional cross over where required.
  •  Maintain communication regarding changes in schedule and workload with the Co-Ordinator.
  •  Report any changes or unexpected issues that may arise to the Co-Ordinator immediately.
  •  Carry out monitored safety zones and buffer zones; ensure EPA ventilating and monitoring procedures are adhered to.
  • Carry out pre-risk assessments on site.
  •  Identify risk hazards associated with the work being performed.
  •  Always maintain good customer relations with clients.
  •  Report any breakdowns, faults, and minor accidents with motor vehicles to the Co-Ordinator.
  •  Attend daily toolbox meetings.
  • Obtain knowledge of procedures and compliancy
  •  Be available and responsible for all enquiries outside of work hours in relation to fumigation.
  •  Maintain an update register of methyl bromide usage, canister usage, SCBA usage and any other relevant document to fulfil the requirements of a successful fumigation treatment.
  •  Attend site to carry out site inspections.
  • Advise clients of any relevant area for continuous improvement in fumigation practices.
  •  Identify additional sales opportunities with existing clients.
  •  Ensure work is carried out as productively and efficiently as possible.
  • Manage time keeping regarding breaks and working hours.
  • Communicate to the team in an effective and supportive manner.
  • Carry out end of month stock checks with the Manager/ Coordinator on chemicals and stock.
  •  Ensure that all the required paperwork is completed accurately and within the required time frame and that copies of visit and treatment reports are filed with the client where required and Liaise with the Coordinator regarding updates and any other issues which may arise.

  •  Attend work functions from time to time outside usual work hours.

  • Any other professional duties as required and directed by the General Manager / Manager from time to time.

  •  Ability to work after hours, weekend and public holidays as and when required.
  • Hold and maintain a full driver’s license G 2 & 6
  • Pay attention to detail.
  • 1 year experience working with pest control, hygiene and fumigation services.
  •  Good communications skills
  • Knowledge in the safe use of equipment and chemical handling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
