Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to provide essential support to our Finance Department in this full-time, permanent role.  The Accounts Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, processing transactions, and supporting general accounting functions.

 

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for providing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable support, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with reporting and administrative duties.  You will be process, code and key supplier invoices accurately, as well as:-

  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and collate data for payment runs, ensuring approvals are obtained
  • Support month-end and year-end processes to ensure accurate transaction recording
  • Assist with maintaining accurate accounts receivable records
  • Address customer enquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances
  • Collaborate with clients to resolve account issues
  • Provide excellent customer service while ensuring adherence to payment terms
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and related reports
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required
  • Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry, and document management
  • Assist the Finance Team with additional accounting duties as required

Qualifications

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years proven Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable experience in an office environment
  • Experience with Cargowise, Oracle and/or Greentree would be considered an advantage
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • A conscientious approach and strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and effective time management skills

This is a full-time permanent role based in our Mangere office. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
