Job Description
We're on the hunt for a Transport Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and optimising Transam New Zealand’s Transport Business. This role ensures the efficient movement of goods from their point of origin to their destination. A strong strategic approach to planning is essential, with an emphasis on aligning logistics operations with the company’s long-term objectives. This position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth, compliant, and cost-efficient trucking operations, directly contributing to the overall success of the company.
Here is what you will be doing:
- Overseeing the transport operations, including truck workshop and owner-driver fleet.
- Planning and coordinating nationwide deliveries, ensuring efficiency and safety.
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimize fleet and resource utilization.
- Managing and supporting the transport team of drivers, dispatchers, and mechanics.
- Resolving logistical issues and driving operational efficiency projects.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Driving change management to adapt to market and company needs.
- Providing ongoing training and development to team members.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Overseeing scheduling, dispatch, and route planning for on-time delivery.
- Managing relationships and negotiating with transport providers.
- Owning fleet maintenance and servicing schedules.
- Preparing and presenting operational reports and data analysis.
- Managing and monitoring transport budgets for cost efficiency.

- Results-Driven Problem Solver: Thriving under pressure, you tackle challenges head-on and consistently deliver outstanding results.
- M&R Expertise: Skilled in developing and implementing Maintenance and Repair (M&R) processes that ensure fleet longevity and performance.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with a strong technical understanding of fleet management systems.

This is a full-time permanent role based in Auckland. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
