Job Description
Overview:
An individual to take responsibility over the complete operation, repairs, welfare, and general maintenance of fruit sorting equipment.
Here's what you’ll do:
- Will setup and operate the electronic fruit sorting equipment.
- Will have to perform general equipment repairs, preventive maintenance and troubleshoot.
- Will fill-out downtime documentation efficiently
- Perform and maintain grading standards through automated equipment and make necessary adjustments.
- Collect and evaluate fruit samples.
- Calibrate unit on a regular basis to ensure proper performance.
- Maintain all electronic and hardware in clean and good operating conditions.
- Load equipment with film (5lbs) and mesh (15lbs) by lifting materials multiple times per shift
- Follow safety standards including fall protection when climbing above ground level
Pay Rate: $18.05
Qualifications
Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:
- Must have intermediate computer skills; experience required using Microsoft Windows (i.e. Excel and Word).
- Ability to perform light electro-mechanical troubleshooting and parts replacement.
- Speak, read and write in the English language, bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Intermediate mathematical skills required. Must understand ratios, minimums and maximums and percentages.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in oral and written form.
- Fruit knowledge or the ability to understand and obtain the knowledge.
- Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance experience preferred but not required.
- Must work with fellow co-workers and promote a teamwork environment.
- Must have good hand speed and the use of both hands to accomplish the above-described duties.
- Ability to continuously walk up and down stairs.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. of materials multiple times per shift
- Ability to bend/stoop down to pick up equipment 5-20 lbs
- Good problem solving skills.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Candidates may be required to pass a math and computer test.
