Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Use safe practices and principles working around equipment and machinery
  • Perform repairs by adjusting, cleaning and replacing worn or damaged parts
  • Service, repair and inspect passenger, light and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Perform repairs and inspections on hydraulic and air brake systems.
  • Perform steering, suspension, wheel bearings, engine cooling systems, Air filter systems, HVAC, hydraulic system troubleshooting and other repairs.
  • Repair and Replace hydraulic hoses, fittings, motors, pumps and valves.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by shop management
  • Hands-on shop & in-field assembling, inspections, cleaning, documentation, adjustments, & replacements of various irrigation pump & motor mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on panel, motors and pumps
  • Perform live/dead test on electrical circuit

Additional Functions:

  • Assigned and maintains a mechanic truck including welder, compressor and tools
  • Advanced welding, cutting, grinding, Arc gouging and Plasma cutting skills
  • Assigned to a harvest crew  
  • Perform BIT/DOT safety inspections
  • Advanced Hydraulic system maintenance and repair
  • Advanced 12v electrical system knowledge  
  • Advanced engine maintenance and repair. Electronic diagnostic skills required
  • Advanced knowledge of PTO, drivelines and u-joints  
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC maintenance and repair
  • Self-directed individual with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Able to take and read various measurements – land depth, length, voltage
  • Basic to Advance knowledge of: Pumps, motors, filter stations, sulfur burners, gypsum machine, fertilizer and acid pumps

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

No formal education or experience is required for this position. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

  • Pass assessment given by Shop management
  • Experience using a variety of hand and power tools. Both electric and pneumatic.

OPTIONAL PERFERED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

  • Commercial Driver’s License
  • Crane Operator License 
  • Opacity Test Certification
  • Welding Certification
  • MAC or ASC HVAC Recovery Certificate
  • ASC Certified
  • Air Brakes
  • Hydraulics
  • Manufacture Sponsored Advanced Repair/Maintenance training
  • FLEET/SHOP ASSITANT.     
  • NCCER certification or ability to obtain in 6 months

-Pay Range: $20/hr - $26/hr. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
