We are seeking a Cellar Worker I to join our Wisteria Production team. This is a permanent full-time position with benefits (not just for harvest). Under general supervision, a Cellar Worker I assists with racking, pumping, clarifying and blending juice and wine and general bottling procedures. You will also be responsible to operate and care for filters, pumps, presses, hoses and other cellar equipment. You will help to check the temperature of tanks during fermentation, stabilizing and storage.

Job Description

  • Assists with general bottling line procedures such as loading the box machines, applying pallet stickers, stacking finished cases, and conducting visual inspections to identify any defects or inconsistencies
  • Gases head space on partial tanks and records accurate measurement of volume
  • Mixes tanks as needed for cold stability and samples tanks
  • Monitors temperature of wine tanks
  • Makes chemical and yeast additions to wine as needed
  • Performs volume calculations for wine blending and wine movements
  • Transfers, racks, filters, and blends wines as needed
  • Assist with still wine barrel work
  • Cleans, maintains and organizes barrels as needed
  • Responsible for monitoring and replenishing cellar inventory of supplies
  • Assists in set up and clean up duties, including cleaning of labeler parts, hosing down floors, and storing packaging materials
  • Sanitizes cellar area equipment and tanks, maintaining a clean and organized work environment at all times
  • Assists with all other harvest duties

  • Prior harvest cellar experience required; 1 consecutive year of bottling preferred
  • Strong communication skills desired
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Manual labor involved – ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds required
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime and weekends
  • Ability to work in a cold or hot climate daily
  • Must be able to perform basic calculations

Pay Range: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
