Overview:

Wonderful Citrus is seeking a motivated, trainable Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This role requires a person who is a quick learner, can work in a fast-paced environment, and can take initiative to solve problems. You’ll effectively partner with team members, internal customers, and external suppliers to coordinate activities involved with procuring goods, services, equipment, tools, and supplies. To be successful, you’ll need to be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, communicate effectively, and have an aptitude for Purchasing.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Create purchase orders from requisitions
• Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Data entry and filing paperwork
• Obtain price quotes from multiple suppliers
• Run reports to help determine needs
• Prepare purchase orders or bid requests
• Issue purchase orders to suppliers and confirm accuracy
• Maintain procurement records such as items or serviced purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
• Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble or take corrective action
• Work with Accounts Payable to resolve issues

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience in a Purchasing, Accounting, or Customer Service environment. Experience can be substituted for an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Ability to communicate seamlessly with internal customers and external vendors
• Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Ability to work mathematical concepts such as factions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations; and conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work non-traditional hours on occasion
• Valid Driver’s License; acceptable driving record
