We are seeking a hard working, dedicated and friendly Part-time Farmstead Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the Chef Garden and Hospitality Division with maintaining appearance of the garden, routine cleaning of hotel premises and working areas, and other preventative maintenance duties. This person will work across the Chef Garden and private or public events as time allows.

The Farmstead (garden) Assistant will be critical in supporting ongoing projects, tracking progress and report statuses on various assignments and other completing other necessary and scheduled duties. The garden assistant will assist with routine or semi-skilled maintenance, landscaping & logistics activities, as needed and directed by the Manager.

This is a part-time position and will work as needed for projects and harvest support (no more than 19 hours per week). The work shift would be 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM. 

• Maintains garden appearance, including pruning, drip irrigation and planting routinely/seasonally
• Walks garden at beginning, throughout the day and end of day to check for weeds, litter, tripping hazards, and other items as assigned by management
• Assists in daily harvesting needs, as well as seasonal fruit harvesting (non-wine grape related)
• Removes trash from garden and property and arranges furniture and equipment as needed
• Assists with maintaining public areas and items, such as Concierge Patio furnishings, Hammock Courtyard, Tasting Room Patio, and maintaining exterior fans or filling heater propane tanks
• Helps maintain proper storage areas and improve functionality
• Follows all company policies and works in a safe and efficient manner
• Maintains service logs and status reports for repair requests or ongoing projects
• Submits work orders for maintenance team on behalf of hospitality as needed
• Assist in set up, tear down and provide support during select events if needed
• Assist with projects, including improvements to public area setup or new hospitality services or spaces

• Know how to install and maintain irrigation system
• Fruit tree pruning and harvesting practices a plus
• Tractor and mechanical skills a plus
• Advanced sanitary training, and knowledge or cleaning practices – including to the level of food handling specifications
•  Must have some basic understanding of facility maintenance / gardening
• Must be self-motived and have Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
• Positive attitude / willingness to “go with the flow”
• Ability to work both independently and on teams
• Possession of excellent communication skills
• Possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities and have a strong work ethic
• Attention to details and good problem-solving skill
• Must possess a valid license with an acceptable driving record
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Heavy lifting will be required
• Food Handlers Card, such as Serve Safe Certification, or be willing to obtain upon employment if necessary

Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.50. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
