The parent company is a joint venture between Government of Samoa and Neptune Pacific Line.  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Team as a Container Cleaner.

Job Description

The role of the Container Cleaner is responsible for ensuring all containers are maintained and cleaned to an acceptable and efficient standard. You will ensure all containers at the yard are checked for damages internally and externally and inform the supervisor of any damage or rubbish inside unit.

In addition, you will wash the containers to acceptable standards as stipulated on SOP SCHS (Sea Container Hygiene System) as well as spray the containers with approved chemicals after wash with power wash. You will assist with carrying out treatments of yard and wharf when due using appropriate chemicals. There will also be some general housekeeping of container yard and other tasks as required.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Due to the physical nature of the role, the container cleaner must have an excellent level of fitness
  • Must be able to work weekends, public holidays and after hours as required
  • Previous experience in shipping or container cleaning would be ideal but not essential – if you are a fast & eager learner!
  • A full valid Driver’s licence is ideal
  • Strong commitment to HSQE, health and wellbeing
  • High level of honesty, integrity, respect and collaboration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent work ethic
  • Pro-active and accepts responsibility
  • Work autonomously with little supervision
  • Must have a clean police record
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment and have the ability to adapt to situations
