Are you our next Assistant Construction Superintendent?

Here at The Wonderful Company, we need an organized and experienced Assistant Construction Superintendent to effectively partner with internal and external stakeholders, such as contactors, suppliers and various levels of management. This role will facilitate various projects and complete assignments while meeting all committed timelines in a safe and productive environment.  This is a “hands-on” position responsible for handling project assigned.

This position is located in Shafter, CA. 

What our Assistant Construction Superintendent will do:

Job Description

  • Oversee and direct construction project as assigned
  • Prepare budget for BTS or Spec green field project working with Architects, Engineers, Design Build contractors, General contractors, Subcontractors, etc.
  • Review consultant and contractor invoicing for accuracy of completion of work billed
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
  • Work with local government agencies or utilities to obtain pertinent permits
  • Work with local government agencies and third-party companies to schedule and implement testing and inspections
  • Review the work progress on a daily basis and prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Maintain a Safe Construction Zone – ensure all contractors meet and follow OSHA standards

Skills & experience that are necessary as our Assistant Construction Superintendent will include, but not limited to:

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 Years of Construction Project experience
  • Proven working experience in construction management
  • Working knowledge of all permitting/regulations require i.e. CEQA, SWPPP, Phase I, II, or III Environmental, SJVAPCD regulations, Earthwork and Building permits, etc.
  • Working knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulation, and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional capacity with the capacity to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field

Pay Range: $80,000 -$87,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
