Neptune Pacific Direct Line (NPDL) is the leading shipping company connecting Asia, Australia and NZ to the Pacific.  We are experiencing a period of significant growth, building capacity and capability across our network.  We operate 9 containerships, moving +240k TEU across various ports in 16 countries, in partnership with Maersk, CMA/ANL and PIL.  NPDL is part of The Wonderful Company headquartered in the USA (including Fiji Water).

Job Description

You will be responsible for providing procurement process support, including ensuring supplier contracts and rates are properly maintained, that supplier invoices are accurate and paid on-time, managing disputes, claims, credits and regular spend reporting / KPIs.  This role will work across NPDL operations, assisting the various NPDL teams with identifying the most cost-effective options.

This role is a 12-month fixed term role which will be based in Parnell and are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and thrive in a dynamic team environment. You will also take ownership of the Fiji port invoice checking. If you are into streamlining processes, then we are happy for you to make this your baby and implement ways to improve our checking processes.

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills with a thorough understanding of MS Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work well with cross-functional teams
  • Hands-on/roll-up-your-sleeves approach, working with the team to produce high quality work.
  • Be driven to achieve all set goals and deadlines
  • Have a passion for change that enhances current processes and drives efficiency
  • Demonstrate the willingness and ability to learn and take on new challenges

You will have exceptional attention to detail, an ability to handle a high-volume of requests, strong process focus and don’t mind some repetition in a role – after all you will be spending a lot of time checking invoices and spend reporting.  To top it all off, of course you must have outstanding written and verbal communication.

You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
