Landmark is seeking a Cellar Master to join their team! Under the direction of the Winemaker, the Cellar Master is responsible for managing a smooth workflow in the cellar and on the crush pad, including bottling, racking, pumping, filtering, forklift operation, crushing, pressing and other production related responsibilities.

Job Description

  • Perform all levels of wine work and equipment operation including: sanitation, barrel work, racking, topping and SO2 additions.
  • Day to day supervision of the cellar staff to ensure a safe, efficient and effective work environment.
  • Safely operate forklift.
  • Organize barrel room and maintain barrel inventory. Ensure barrel inventory in database is updated and accurate.  
  • Train seasonal cellar workers on SOP’s.
  • Ensure proper sanitation and use of winery equipment by cellar staff.
  • Act as on-site manager as needed during harvest and peak times.
  • Assist winemaking with planning and scheduling winery operations.
  • Track physical inventory (wine, chemicals, gas, supplies) and notify winemaking of needs.
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner and review for accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain cellar cleanliness and sanitation up to food safety protocols.
  • Keep all areas clean and safe for guests.
  • Inspect and coordinate maintenance repairs.
  • Ensure basic preventative maintenance for winery and facility equipment.
  • Participate in tastings.
  • Adhere to all Federal, State, and company safety regulations.
  • Participate in safety committee. Assist with implementing and maintaining safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years previous wine experience
  • Previous success managing a team
  • Ability to establish direction, obtain commitment and execute appropriate production processes
  • Strong ability to work under pressure
  • Conversational Spanish strongly desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Forklift Certification

Pay Rate: $65,000 - $70,000. Final compensation will be dependent on skills & experience.
