Lewis Cellars is a premier winery in the heart of Napa Valley, driven to create world-class wines. We vinify Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc from vineyards throughout the valley, as well as Chardonnay from Sonoma’s Russian River Valley.

We are seeking Harvest Interns to join us for Harvest 2023! We are a small, tight-knit group of passionate wine professionals, committed to creating a positive and supportive work culture. We are proud of the wines we make, and we have fun making them! We offer a well-rounded learning experience for our interns—you can expect to have your hands in every aspect of the winemaking process. 

Internship will begin in late August through the end of November. This position is based in Napa, CA and requires full-time availability (potential overtime and weekend work) throughout the duration of the internship.

Job Description

  • Grape sampling and maturity analysis
  • Fruit receival and processing
  • Fermentation management including daily monitoring, pump overs, inoculations and additions, and pressing
  • Lab analysis of musts, juices, and wines
  • Cellar operations including barrel filling, racking, topping, and other wine movements
  • Plenty of cleaning and sanitation

Qualifications

  • Previous harvest experience is a plus
  • Solid communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic, critical thinking skills, and a positive team-building attitude
  • Ability to work entire harvest period from late August through November
  • Ability to perform physical labor for extended hours, 6 days per week during peak harvest
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, perform repetitive motions, and work in variable temperatures and weather conditions
  • Ability to work legally in the United States

Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00 an hour (plus potential overtime pay). Final compensation will be dependent on skills and experience.
