Job Description

The role:

You will need to be a very strong all-rounder with substantial hands-on transactional experience, with a flexible can-do attitude, as the position will be required initially to pick up numerous adhoc work and to deputise and free up colleagues as required as NPDL undertakes some major Finance implementation/integration projects.

You will also be an important member of the NPDL Central Accounting team, working closely with the Group Accounting Manager - Finance as NPDL ensures the Month End close, Consolidation and Submission to US Parent is completed within the 5WD deadline.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work with NPDL Finance to ensure Month/Year End Reporting is completed in line with Reporting Timetables including supplementary schedules
  • Full Management of NPDL Intercompany Positions, ensuring all Intercompany positions are fully reconciled cross both P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Work with NPDL Finance and Local Accountants to ensure NPDL Group completes its Local Statutory obligations in a timely and efficient manner across all jurisdictions and work towards Zero adjustments.
  • Assist NPDL Finance to ensure all Tax requests from Corporate are covered off quickly and efficiently.
  • Finance Point of Contact on NPDL Entity Tax Packs with US Parent
  • Work closely with NPDL Tax Manager to ensure all Tax entries are booked in local GL’s  
  • Providing support to NPDL Finance on Management Reporting requests
  • Other tasks as directed

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • Qualified CA/CPA
  • Strong experience of Consolidated Financial Reporting in a Multi-Currency environment with a high volume of intercompany transactions.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with strong reconciliation skills with the ability to interrogate large data
  • Strong Finance Systems experience
  • Strong working experience of reconciling Intercompany positions
  • Experience of compiling a detailed YE Reporting pack to Auditors, including fully complete balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Sound, up to date Technical Accounting experience (IFRS essential, US GAAP advantageous)
  • Experience of at least one Finance System implementation advantageous
  • Experience of a strong control environment (SOX preferred).
  • Sound Working knowledge of International Tax with hands on experience with YE Tax calculations and Deferred Tax
  • Good understanding of Transfer Pricing

You will have excellent attention to detail, with a strong attitude to complete tasks correctly the first time. In addition, you will have a good understanding of what “Best Practice” looks like, armed with a “Can do” attitude to enable you to fulfil your role.

What will give you the edge compared to other candidates? Experience with Oracle FCCS and Oracle Cloud Financials in addition to having previous ERP Implementation experience.  This experience coupled with a good understanding of Principal/Agency Model as well as experience of reporting into an overseas parent company will put you in good stead. You will really stand out if you have conversational French Language skills – this is preferred but not essential as you could be dealing with the French Polynesian islands like New Caledonia, Noumea etc.
