Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a School Nurse Credential to join our Central Valley Health and Wellness team based at our Health Clinics and School-Based Health Centers. This role will require regular travel to our clinics and/or Student Wellness Centers (SWC) in Lost Hills and Delano. Under general supervision of the RN Supervisor, the Registered Nurse:

  • Performs care coordination and professional nursing functions to assess the severity of the patient's health concerns using protocols and algorithms in a manner that provides patient dispositions to urgent care, clinic provider appointments, and triage nurse clinic services within the scope of the licensed practice.
  • The RN will support providers in triaging walk-in patients.
  • In regards to the SWCs, the RN will conduct screenings and write referrals for health services, as well as develop and monitor health plans for students.
  • The RN will also support the RN Supervisor with various duties. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, required. 
  • Health/School Certifications required.
  • School Nurse Services Credential, CL 380 required. 
  • Experience in triaging and conducting phone consultations and follow up with patients.
  • Outgoing, positive personality; comfortable helping patients navigate health care system.
  • Team player, open to learning and taking direction and collaborating with all members of our team.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated clinical competence.
  • Nursing assessment skills with/without visual inspection utilizing basic nursing theory.
  • Excellent communication skills, i.e., listening, oral and written English skills while conversing with patients, families, health professionals and community agencies.
  • The ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance processes for outpatient labs such as CLIA waiver, autoclaving, phlebotomy.
  • Familiarity with IEP process.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
