We currently have a great opportunity for the position of Licensed Customs Agent based at our Wailekutu Depot who will be responsible for clearance of imported goods by correct tariff classification for the calculation of Customs payments and serves as intermediary between importers, shipping lines and Customs. The Licensed Customs Agent will report to Imports Manager.

Job Description

  • Work with the customer service team to coordinate the receiving of documents for clearance purposes
  • Preparation of export, import and transshipment entries
  • Prepare and compile documents required by FRCS for the discharge/clearance of foreign cargo at domestic port
  • Prepare entry papers from suppliers’ invoice in accordance with FRCS regulations and other government agencies.
  • Calculate value for Duty in accordance with appropriate tariffs.
  • Lodgment of documents to Customs for approvals and arrangement of payment
  • Provide storage of imported goods if required upon request by client or under bond to premises should clearance take more than intended time
  • Confirm mode of delivery and advice delivery clerk to coordinate with Transport Department
  • Weekly summation of jobs done – cleared/uncleared/transshipments.
  • Attend to examination at the premises of the client and execute delivery as and when required

Additional Information

  • Hold a customs license for processing of customs entries
  • 2 years or more experience in freight forwarding industry or similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • High level of integrity and work ethics; strong attention to detail
  • Pro-active team player
  • Highly skilled with technology and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft suite
