Job Description

Wonderful Orchards is seeking an Accounting Manager - Costing and Treasury to support our Shafter, CA corporate operations. This position will be responsible for all inventory costing for each of the entities that produce and maintain inventory.  The position will perform treasury duties related to loan borrowings and repayments and will work on special projects to improve processes and procedures within the organization.  The position will report to the VP of Accounting and will work cross functionally with all the business units and the various subsidiaries.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Organize and  build costing methodologies for various Wonderful Companies.
  • Manage the month-end close process for assigned Wonderful Entities.
  • Review and update costing methodology to provide management with the best information for making decisions.
  • Intercompany cash management responsibilities related to Intercompany, Coop, Member Loan, and Crop Loans.
  • Prepare and deliver Annual/Quarterly/Monthly bank deliverables related to borrowings and covenants.
  • Review, manage and enter monthly revenue transactions and accruals related to all crop varieties.
  • Monitor and process final cost pool adjustments as part of crop year end.
  • Mentor and develop staff and strengthen the cost accounting team at Wonderful Orchards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications include, but are not limited to the following:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Accounting and 5+ years of public and/or agricultural accounting experience.

  • 2+ years of costing experience preferred.
  • Experience with costing in an integrated ERP system a plus.
  • Proven project leadership experience and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advance Excel skills.
  • CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Tableau a plus, and Oracle EBS or Fusion are plus.
  • Self-starter with superior accounting project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
