Fresh Sanitation Lead must coordinate and lead sanitation crew activities and inspect that work is done correctly. The lead will oversee that production equipment and areas are cleaned daily. Properly record and file sanitation documents before production startup daily. Will have to assess work performance and train as needed. Must notify their supervisor of any safety hazards or problems that may arise. In addition to doing any other tasks as assigned by their supervisor or lead.

Job Description

  • Expectation to update MSS’s, SSOP’s or other documents on the shared drive when given direction by sanitation supervisor.
  • Inspect work, materials, products, and equipment to detect unsatisfactory work, defects or malfunctions and report to supervisor and/or manager..
  • Monitor, maintain and report sanitation efficiency while watching for problems, needs, changes from usual cleaning schedules or conditions.
  • Adhere to sanitation commitment(s) to clean plants and deliver to production each day.
  • Conduct daily shift tailgate meetings.

A.    Meetings will include assignments, schedules, expectations and safety topic when given by Safety Manager.

B.    Leads are to assign areas of responsibility and the expectations to all team members on their shift.

Leads will ensure that all chemicals are used in the proper containers and properly tagged with the correct information and MSS’s are to be filled out daily.

A.    1st shift starts new sheets for each area in operation and passes down to 2nd shift

B.    2nd shift will continue and complete daily tasks that were not finished by 1st shift and pass down to 3rd shift.

C.   3rd shift will complete the daily wash down section and turn into the Supervisor at the end of the shift.

Technical Skills

A.    Able to manage and execute directives

B.    Ability to work with chemicals and/or learn proper chemical properties for dilution, mixing and safe handling of chemicals.

A.    Able to mentor subordinates for successful results, report any issues that contribute to inability to execute KPI; specifically centered on employee performance.

B.    Work with other support and customer teams to resolve conflicts and problems.
