You will be part of our dedicated Customer Service team who are essentially the face of the NPDL, continuing to improve and enhance the customer experience. You will interact with all functions of NPDL to ensure the smooth and efficient processing of import and export services.

Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparing documentation including bookings, container releases
  • Submitting Customs Outward Cargo report
  • Preparing and submitting booking reports to third party vessel operators
  • Managing the end-to-end process for Coastal shipments and interisland bookings
  • Organising local cartage and customs clearance if required by shipper
  • Attaching Shippers SLI to Edocs, updating bookings based on this document
  • Auto rating bookings prior to handing over to Documentation team, advising Sales of any rate discrepancies
  • Attending Sales calls with key account clients per call plan
  • Creating CBF as needed
  • For Key Customers, arranging empty container truck out and full in
  • Cargo Readiness – ensuring approvals received (DG and BBK OOG), empty container uplifted, cargo in port for loading
  • Arranging late receivals
  • Sending preliminary load list to vessel planners
  • Sending final load list to vessel planners
  • Once vessel has sailed, reconciling load list and providing finalised load list to Export team.
  • Handling general enquires from customers
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • Previous experience in a similar position within shipping/freight is preferred but not essential
  • Experience with CargoWise desirable
  • Team player with a positive, customer-centric attitude
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective time management and planning skills

This role is based in Parnell.  You will possess the ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-paced environment. In addition, you will have demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to work to changing deadlines which is part and parcel of the industry. Multitasking and prioritizing your work will come naturally to you while you strive to meet customer’s needs.
