Job Description

You will be part of our dedicated Transhipment team who looks after cargo that comes through our NZ borders and work at pace to coordinate all activities for the final leg of the journey, to the Pacific Islands. Reporting to the Transhipment Lead, you will be the first point of contact for all transhipment bookings. You will be responsible for continuing to improve and enhance the customer experience. You will also work closely with departments within NPDL as well as principals to ensure the smooth and efficient processing of all transhipment services.

What you will be doing:

  • Managing transhipment cargo flows from origin to final destination
  • Managing all FIJI Water connections
  • Managing relationships with shippers, liaising on pricing, vessel connections, cargo releases
  • Coordinating and managing bookings, updating rates & manifesting for trades
  • Managing transshipment port shuttle moves, customs clearance and local transport where required
  • Submitting container equipment moves and pre-alerts details
  • Ensuring uplift reports are sent as soon as vessel has sailed.
  • Processing all express releases relating to nominated vessels
  • Assisting with export documentation on the trade lanes
  • Updating of all vessel voyage details and uploading vessels into ERP
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • Previous experience in a similar position within shipping/freight
  • Experience with CargoWise desirable
  • Tertiary studies in transportation or supply chain management are highly desired
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to adapt and learn really quickly
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-paced environment

This role is based in Parnell. You will be process oriented excellent attention to detail. Your time management skills and ability to prioritise will be essential in ensuring outstanding outcomes for the business.  You will love working as part of a team and at the same time can also work autonomously to ensure we are meeting deadlines. It goes without saying you will have brilliant communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with internal and external customers.
