Wonderful Nurseries, located in Wasco, CA with annual production of 10 million plants, over 800,000 square feet of greenhouses, and 1100 acres of nursery ground, is looking to hire on full time Pest Control Advisor to meet the needs of our growing business. Our focus is on growing high quality, healthy trees and vines to our customers in California and around world.

Here's what you’ll do:

The Pest Control Advisor will supervise the pest and disease management program for the nursery for all crops we produce. We predominantly produce grapevines, but also grow significant quantities of pistachio and almond trees.

• Monitoring increase blocks, nursery grounds, and greenhouses for pest problems, including but not limited to insects, diseases, weeds, nematodes
• Monitoring plant development, nutrition and weed status
• Write pest control recommendations to address pest issues
• Release biological control organisms where warranted
• Work with management to maximize plant quality and yield
• Visiting customer blocks when asked, to diagnose issues or for general customer assistance
• Other technical tasks as assigned by the director

Qualifications include:

 Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science, Plant Science or related field strongly preferred and 2+ years' experience, or equivalent combination education and experience.

• Must have an active Pest Control Advisor (PCA) license with all categories
• Self-starter, independent personality, ability to multi-task and manage both short and long-term goals
• Excellent planning and scheduling abilities
• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred but not required.
• Experience with grape and/or nursery pest control preferred
• Must have a clean driving record
• Work may require some nights, weekends and holidays
• COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption

Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000, plus bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
