Summary of Position

The Associate V may perform a variety of significant tasks, which contribute to the over-all quality and safety of pistachio & almond products, as well as the mechanical integrity of various machinery and computer systems throughout the facility. This may include performing tasks in multiple areas, including but not limited to Electrical Systems, Food Safety, Information Technology (IT) and Maintenance. The Associate V plays a vital role in their contribution to the over-all goals of various departments.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

(You may be asked to perform some, or all of the duties described below)

Electrical Systems Tasks

·         Respond to facility electrical, instrumentation and control issues.

·         Trouble-shoot, repair and maintain food processing, manufacturing, packaging and material handling electrical systems.

·         Collaborate with operations staff to provide rapid customer service and support in a production environment.

Food Safety Tasks

·         Inspect pest control devices throughout the facility according to set schedule.

·         Apply pesticides and bait as needed according to set schedule.

·         Observe and record findings to improve pest control.

·         Collect, analyze and record data related to current pest activity.

·         Apply pesticides and fumigants throughout facility to assist in controlling pests.

·         Drive  equipment  such  as  forklifts  and  “yard-goat”  trucks  to  move  inventory  and  containers throughout the facility.

·         Collect and record data relating to scheduled application of pesticides and fumigants.

IT Support Tasks

·         Provide first line of support for the IT Help Desk and Application Development Team.

·         Solve first level technical support issues for end-users.

·         Receive and process IT Help Desk requests from phone calls and walk-in customers.

·         Utilize current knowledge base to research, analyze and resolve basic software, network and hardware issues.

Maintenance Tasks

·         Perform various maintenance, repair, installation and trouble-shooting of facility machines and equipment without constant supervision, including but not limited to: motors, pumps, conveyors, gear boxes, fans and compressors.

·         All “Task Level I & II” Critical Skills.

·         Perform math functions at a HS level.

·         Possess the ability to communicate effectively in English.

·         Communicate effectively in writing to include: emails, letters, presentations, etc.

·         Self-discipline to stay on task and meet necessary deadlines provided by leader.

·         Build collaborative relationships with peers and customers.

·         Recognize conflict.

·         Solve conflicts constructively with the assistance of a superior when necessary.

Functional Skills

·         Safely operate all job-related machinery and equipment required for the performance of assigned tasks.

·         Keep assigned areas of responsibility clean and well organized.

·         Demonstrate good judgment when performing written or oral instructions.

·         Complete required documents accurately and in a timely manner.

·         Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred but not required).

·         Communicate issues or concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.

·         Entry level computer skills are required.

·         Attend safety meetings and other departmental or company related meetings as assigned.

·         Participate in all “Lock Out-Tag Out” (LOTO) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) events and trainings.

·         Observe all “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMPs) as specified by the Company’s food safety policy.

·         Perform additional duties as assigned. (May also be asked to perform “Task Level I & II” duties as needed).

 

 

Education / Experience

·         High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) recommended.

·         Trade/Technical certification required (for pest control tasks – “qualified applicator”).

1-2 years of related experience recommended
