Job Description

Part of NPDL, Container Repairs and Sales (CRS) provides full empty container services including storage, repairs, sales, modifications and leasing. Whether you have a wealth of experience behind you or are interested in learning new things and developing your skills, we want to hear from you!

Repairers - If you have welding, steel cutting, painting and light fabrication experience, or have just recently completed a welding certificate, then this could be your opportunity to start a new career in the shipping container industry. Some knowledge of the shipping industry would be an advantage; however, it will be your strong work ethic, positive attitude and drive to succeed that will stand out from the crowd!

Labourers - You will be steam-cleaning, painting, sweeping out containers and completing basic repairs to ensure shipping containers meet specific industry standards. You will also need to assist with general jobs around the yard. Training will be provided. We are all team players who like to get stuck in, however, these roles have the potential to develop into various other roles within the depot such as more complex repairing.

Qualifications

We need someone who is safety conscious, with an ability to follow standard procedures. Experience in a port or container yard is an advantage, however it will be your strong work ethic, positive attitude and drive to succeed that will stand you out from the crowd!

You will need to pass Ministry of Justice, ACC checks and a drug and alcohol test as part of our recruitment process.

Additional Information

Hours of Work:

A minimum of 40 hours a week Monday to Friday between the hours of 6.00am – 6.00pm. Flexibility to work overtime to meet operational requirements will be required. Rostered Saturdays 7.00am – 1.00pm. Great overtime rates offered!
