The parent company is a joint venture between Government of Samoa and Neptune Pacific Line.  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Team as a Container Controller.

Job Description

The role of the Container Controller is responsible for updating the container movements daily, completing various reports either weekly or monthly, arranging container deliveries to/from customers as well as arranging container hire to customers.

In addition, you will need to send all empties container lists to the Head office for allocations, arrange pre-tripping of all containers through climate, attend to sight container damages at customer sites and complete container reports/photos amongst other duties.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with containers or shipping would be ideal but not essential – if you are a fast & eager learner!
  • A full valid Driver’s licence is essential
  • Must be able to work weekends, public holidays and after hours as required especially when vessels come in
  • High level of honesty, integrity, respect and collaboration
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical as you will be going through manifests
  • Excellent work ethic, pro-active and accepts responsibility
  • Work autonomously with little supervision
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook programs to an intermediate level
  • Fluent in both English and Samoan
  • Must have a clean police record
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment and have the ability to adapt to situations
