The parent company is a joint venture between Government of Samoa and Neptune Pacific Line.  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Team as a Container Cleaning Supervisor.

Job Description

The role of the Container Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for supervising the cleaning of empty and full containers at our yard. You will tally empty containers received for cleaning and arrange delivery to wharf or for export.  You will ensure that the SCHS (Sea Container Hygiene System) is administered, as per COP manual. 

In addition, you will report and take photos of damaged containers received at the yard as well as a stock take of chemicals on a monthly basis for SCHS.  You will provide data sheet for treatment for SCHS and provide training of staff on SCHS procedures.  You may be required to provide cover as forklift driver when required.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is required
  • Previous rostering experience would be ideal
  • A full valid Driver’s licence is essential
  • High level of honesty, integrity, respect and collaboration
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships
  • Strong attention to detail, logistically minded and excellent work ethic
  • Pro-active and accepts responsibility
  • Work autonomously with little supervision
  • Must be able to work weekends, public holidays and after hours as required
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook programs to an intermediate level
  • Fluent in both English and Samoan
  • Must have a clean police record
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment and have the ability to adapt to situations
