Job Description

The role:

As the Business System Analyst, you will assist the business in identifying challenges with the current systems and have proven ability to analyse and interpret information, deal with the challenges creatively and achieve solutions. Your focus will be to help the business get the most out of core platforms, with a demonstrated understanding of business processes and enterprise level software.

We need a confident communicator that can operate at all levels of the business, as you will collaborate with external partners, business users and system integrators for new initiatives / projects and execution. No day will be the same as you will be involved in a range of technical and functional tasks and play a critical role in our IT projects.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Consult with business unit’s to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures and problems.
  • Define IT solutions to various business needs and communicate in clear terms to business unit management the IT solution alternatives and assist them in their decision making.
  • Create and update business process documents.
  • Create requirements document, functional specification documents, unit and integrated test scenario documents and other relevant artifacts necessary for implementation of IT solutions.
  • Define workflow solutions to work with Cargowise One, Oracle Fusion, or other custom solutions for various business needs, communicate in clear terms to business users the solution options and assist them in decision making.
  • Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving day-to-day IT issues as it relates to CargoWise One and related applications.
  • Supporting the businesses on the core operational processes - Freight Liner & Agency, Forwarding, Customs, Warehouse, Schedules, Transport, Tariffs & Rates, Job Costing
  • Supporting the businesses on financial processes that are tightly integrated to operations
  • Work with business stakeholders to implement workflows in the system using CargoWise One Workflow tools
  • Create or update end user training documents and guides.
  • Provide hands-on training to end users on various aspects of applications.
  • Coordinating and guiding other broader IT Teams to resolve issues.
  • Resolving product issues by opening, updating and escalating service tickets with product vendors.
  • Providing production support using service management tools and procedures for tracking, user communication and service level management.
  • Identify potential improvement opportunities that arise from developments in technology, and routinely report on these. Where required, prepare reports that demonstrate the potential costs, risks, and benefits of these opportunities.

This role is based in Auckland. You will love to be in the thick of things, have solid analysis skills as well as excellent communications skills (both written and verbal). You thrive in a collaborative design environment and are able to deal with multiple projects on the go. There will be some local travel as well as the occasional international travel to the Pacific Islands as required.

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in working with and implementing Business ERP solution
  • Previous Shipping or Logistics specific application experience is ideal
  • Experience with operating and managing modules
  • Exposure to Oracle ERP Fusion Functions and CargoWise working knowledge Certification are an advantage
  • Proficiency in MSSQL T-SQL scripting is of value
  • Functional understanding of SQL concepts such as tables, views, schema objects.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data interface issues.
