The Wonderful Company is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to support the company’s CI efforts aimed at changing the culture of The Wonderful Company where every employee becomes a problem solver.

This role is critical in developing and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives, improving productivity and driving loss elimination across the Wonderful Company locations.  The Continuous Improvement Manager is also responsible for the training and coaching of teams on PDCA projects and lean concepts to optimize our processes.  This individual will also provide expertise in advanced problem-solving and process optimization tools and techniques at our various sites.

Job Description

The following is a summary of the essential functions of this job. Other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below may change.

  • Training, coaching and challenging process owners in the use of lean and statistical tools, approaches and techniques to create sustainable management and measurement systems.
  • Facilitate team use of Lean Tools, including Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, PDCA/Problem Solving Process, and identifying Waste.
  • Manage multiple projects to ensure on-time delivery and quality using both internal and external resources.
  • Investigating and analyzing production methods and processes to identify improvements to drive efficiency, reduce cost and eliminate waste.
  • Actively seeking out best practices to share and implement at the sites.
  • This role reports to the Vice President of Continuous Improvement and is based in Los Angeles.  Travel requirements are mostly within California, though we also have operations in Oregon, Texas, Europe, Mexico and Fiji

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in an operations role (such as Continuous Improvement, Production, or Quality)
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Math, Science or related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Certification or significant experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma a plus
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative)
  • Strong written and presentation skills
  • Knowledgeable in change management and adult learning
  • COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption
  • This is a hybrid based role Monday - Wednesday in office. Thursday & Friday will be remote.
