Job Description

Here’s some of what you’ll do:

You will be a key member of our Transam Logistics team, supporting the business with managing import consignments, arranging container packing, quoting clients, data entry, invoicing, cartage, and maintaining long term customer and supplier relationships.  Adept at understanding customer needs, and with experience in coordinating freight and logistics services, you'll identify opportunities to cross sell all Transam services to new and existing customers.

No two days will be the same, and you will be kept busy liaising with shippers, warehouses and ports in relation to cargo; arranging cartage of FCL/LCL consignments via road, rail and sea; monitoring shipments; and providing quotes.  This role is based in Mangere and reports to the Transam Logistics General Manager.

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience with imports and logistics
  • Operational experience in CargoWise modules.
  • Operational understanding of MPI and Customs requirements.
  • Keen and proactive team player.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills, both written and oral.
  • Sound problem solving and analytical skills to drive tasks to completion.
  • Intermediate level computer skills (including Excel) with interest to learn new systems.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and deliver to tight deadlines
