The parent company is a joint venture between Government of Samoa and Neptune Pacific Line.  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Team as an Operations Manager.

The role is responsible for the overall Operations department which include Port Agency, SCHS (Sea Container Hygiene System), Stevedoring & Freight station to ensure maximum performance and utilization of Company resources.

In addition, you will be responsible for the PFL Health and Safety Programme, be able to implement Neptune H&S Policies as well as monitor and Report H&S as required internally and to Principle.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in shipping would be ideal but not essential – if you are a fast & eager learner!
• Leadership experience is critical for this role along with previous reporting experience
• A logistics background would be useful as the role entails - planning staff rosters; daily work plans and machinery usage & rotation
• Must be able to work weekends, public holidays and after hours as required
• Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook programs to an intermediate level
• Always have Health and Safety at the front of your mind when working
• Fluent in both English and Samoan
• Be able to work autonomously with minimum supervision
• Must be well presented, articulate, and have excellent communication skills
• Must have a clean police record
• Must have high a level work ethic, hardworking, reliable and honest
• Be able to work in a fast paced environment and have the ability to adapt to situations
