Job Description

Overview:

Reporting to the GL Supervisor, the GL Accountant will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the duties shown below.  

Here's what you'll do:

  • Secure highly-sensitive and confidential financial data and information
  • Prepare and record payroll journals into the general ledger
  • Complete account reconciliations for payroll and payroll related accounts
  • Perform:
    • month end GL entries for both trust entities and Wonderful Citrus entities 
    • monthly variance analysis of Mexico financial statements
    • retail inventory and cash on hand audit 
    • account reconciliation for balance sheet accounts
    • all necessary monthly wire payments for Citrus Trust entities
    • all related party entries
  • Prepare and issue:
    • monthly accrual reports and create accrual JE as appropriate
    • quarterly intercompany confirmations and audit confirmations as specified by KPMG auditors
  • Create and maintain recurring journal entries
  • Maintain:
    • all mass allocation entries 
    • Revolving Promissory Note with affiliates by recording monthly interest accruals
    • cash accounts and coordinate excess cash under the Revolving Promissory Note with affiliates 
    • intercompany confirmation receipts and tie out balances
    • line-of-credit accounts to ensure appropriate funds are available for monthly operating expenses
  • Reconcile and record revenue, COGS and inventory for onsite cafes year-end flow of funds for trust entities
  • Assist with audits and reporting packages for RF Citrus Ranches,  WC Holdings  and Cooperatives.
  • Review and reconcile all intercompany
  • Run monthly journal entry reversal process
  • Complete special projects and requests
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement lean practices
  • Coordinate cash needs and utilization of line of credit with affiliate

Qualifications

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

  • COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a business-related field
  • CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounting (in agriculture industry, preferred)
  • Experience interfacing journal entries from payroll data is highly-preferred
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential data and documentation
  • Experience using Oracle Cloud (formerly Fusion) Enterprise Resource Planning and Hyperion Financial Management systems preferred
  • Advanced proficiency using Excel and other MS Office systems
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
  • Ability to plan and meet deadlines

  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Familiar with Federal & State Income Taxes a plus
