Job Description

Overview:

The Tax Accountant applies principles of accounting and taxation to assist the tax director in the preparation of income, property, excise, sales and other tax work papers and tax returns. Performs general ledger reconciliations, journal entries and other accounting functions as needed.

Here's what you'll do:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of year-end tax packages for corporations and LLC's, including preparation of all supporting schedules.
  • Assist with quarterly estimate, extension and tax provision calculations for all entities.
  • Prepare quarterly excise tax returns and fuel credit analysis.
  • Prepare annual Agriculture Statements and assist with other property tax issues as needed.
  • Assist with maintenance of sales tax rates and preparation of sales/use tax returns.
  • Assist with preparation of year-end reports, including 1099's.
  • Assist with audit schedules and inquires.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reports as needed.

Qualifications

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

  • COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption.
  • Bachelor's degree of equivalent from four- year university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field
  • 3+ years accounting experience or equivalent combination experience and/or education.
  • Must have working knowledge and understanding of balance sheet, income statement and computer accounting software. (Oracle experience preferred)
  • Experience in corporate taxation preferred.
  • Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
  • Great communication and presentation skills.
