Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Supervisor will form an integral part of the Purchasing function in the achievement of Operational objectives.  With a strong, solid background in purchasing and supply chain management, the Purchasing Supervisor will take a proactive approach in reviewing current systems and procedures, making recommendations and implementing changes. This role is key to leading the Company forward in securing quality suppliers of materials and components, covering price delivery and quality targets.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Oversee purchasing systems, procedures, reporting (scorecards/dashboards) for all expense and inventoried materials – streamline process.

·         Develop, implement, and monitor purchasing cost analysis reporting.

·         Analyze forecast and lead-times to determine present and future material needs.

·         Supervise the preparation and issuance of purchase orders and requisitions to meet all production, safety, and capital expenditure needs through two Purchasing coordinators.

·         Drive improvements and cost savings ideas through/with POM/Wonderful purchasing board teams.

·         Oversee that material inventories are kept within minimum/maximum bands.

·         Work with Global Sourcing by establishing strategic relationships to negotiate requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.

·         Ensure materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time to meet production and reliability needs.

·         Work with R&D Department to source appropriate raw materials for new product launches and on-going concentrate/puree/flavor needs.

·         Build out RFP process with Bonfire application and other informal avenues as needed.

·         Work with Operations/Reliability teams to build out cost analysis scenarios (ROI) to support CAPEX.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

·         Experience in leading vendor negotiations

·         Advanced knowledge of PC software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.

·         Inventory Control knowledge.

  • Ability to lead/support a team and negotiate with external partners.
  • Must have excellent skill set in the following areas: attention to detail, organization, problem solving, creative thinking and multitasking.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to achieve high impact in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to react quickly to unexpected problems and come up with a solution.
  • Coaching & developing team members and providing support on their day to day activities
  • Continuous Development of self and individual team members
  • Oracle experience a plus

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of purchasing or finance experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or related field
